Ingredients

  • 1 lb butter (salted)
  • 2 c sugar
  • 2 c water (boiling)
  • 5 tsp baking soda
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 qt buttermilk
  • 5 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 c bran flakes
  • 4 c All Bran cereal

Instructions

  • Mix boiling water and baking soda. Set aside to cool.
  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Add eggs to butter and sugar, mix.
  • Continue mixing and add buttermilk.
  • Gradually blend in floor, then add baking soda and water.
  • Add bran flakes and All Bran cereal.
  • Stir and refrigerate until sufficiently chilled. (Approx. 6 hours.)
  • Spoon into muffin pan. Fill each cup appox. 2/3 full
  • Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes.

Notes

Keep refrigerated up to 6 weeks and use as needed.
